Dr. Karena Wu is a member of the the AVP Medical Board. She recaps the 2016 AVP professional beach volleyball season with Advance for PT & Rehab medicine magazine. Karena works as the medical event supervisor at the events and covered 6 of the 8 events thsi year. Chutima Phanpho is originally from Thailand where she received a Bachelors degree in Physical Therapy from Mahidol University. She recently graduated from New York University with a Masters degree in Pathokinesiology. Before she moved to New York City, she held several positions as a lab assistant, medical textbook illustrator and as a physical therapist in private practice in Bangkok.
Chutima has a passion for raising the quality of life of her clients. Her treatment is based on exercise and integrative manual techniques such as the Maitland Australian Approach, the Mulligan concept, Craniosacral Therapy, Lymphatic drainage therapy, and Visceral and Neural manipulation. Her research study focuses on sports related injuries, specifically in runners. Chutima devotes her time to review cases and find different ways to improve her patients condition.
In her leisure time, Chutima enjoys learning new skills, reading, drawing and meditation. She likes to explore new places and want to experience all of the activities New York City has to offer.
Alexis Airall was born and raised in Weschester County and is the first generation in her family born in the United States.. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology, from Temple University. Alexis had a focus on Exercise and Sports Science within her major.
She is working as a Physical Therapy aide and will utilize her experience, knowledge, and passion to serve the patients at ActiveCare Physical Therapy. She plans on pursuing a career as a Physical Therapist and would like to open a practice in her homeland of Antigua, West Indies, to teach the importance of health and wellness.
In her spare time, Alexis enjoys traveling with friends and family. She explores the arts through music and painting, and challenges herself to become a better person then she was the day before.
